| About Us |
| The history of the 4th North Coy Ahmad Ibrahim Girl Guides dated back to the 70s. It is one of the oldest uniformed group in Ahmad Ibrahim sec sch, other than their brother group, the Boy Scouts. The sisters and brothers work hand in hand, to achieve what we had today. |
| What we do |
| Our activities mainly includes testworks,
campfires, gangshow (mini campfire), camping, footdrills, courses organise by the
Singapore Guides Association, hiking, camping, and many more games during our weekly
meetings. In year 2000, we had a combined hike and also a combined camp with our
brother Scouts. Recently, our Cadet Lieutenants, now known as Young Adults,
had combined with the Scouts Leaders Council, to plan many more major activities, which
means more adventure and fun will be coming our way. There will also be a skills
exchange program fornightly, so that we can get to learn the skills of the Scouts.
Girls of the 21st century can also do what the boys do! Our leadership and the skills we are taught are fully exercised during the activities. We also learn how to be a responsible citizen and student through training and games. As the saying goes 'All work and no play makes Jane a dull girl'. So we always pamper ourselves with some fun and get serious when it's time to work. |
| For this new year, the Young Adults have new
plans to help the girls to achieve things that they want to achieve and also learning
things that they may not be learning from school education. Almost every month they will
try to organise some major activities like hiking, swimming, and many more outdoor games.
They have also come up with a more systematic plan for the guides on their testworks
hoping to help our guides to achieve the various awards. We hope that our guides will not only regard guiding as a CCA to gain points, but also an event in their secondary school life to gain different experiences and learning extra things outside their textbooks. Therefore we are trying to cultivate the interest for guiding into everyone. |
